Our Story
GAUTHIER SOURCES CLASSIC VINTAGE TIMEPIECES WITH A COMMITMENT TO QUALITY, AUTHENTICITY, CONDITION, AND TIMELESSNESS.
Founder Spencer Gauthier has passion for people and objects that last. He studied archaeology at UCLA, conducting fieldwork overseas. After graduating, he attended fashion school to learn garment construction and then worked in the New York office of one of the oldest textile companies on Savile Row.
A respected vintage watch boutique in Los Angeles recruited him in 2014 to become store director. In that shop just off Rodeo Drive, he honed his expertise in vintage timepieces, handling thousands of them over the years.
An opportunity eventually arose to work in business development for a startup in the advertising industry. It became the largest influencer marketing company before it was sold for half a billion dollars.
Spencer decided he’d rather make people happy again by selling them physical objects that last. Nothing lasts today like quality vintage watches. Sourcing beautiful timepieces also brought him back full circle to his roots in archaeology, perpetually in search of timeless treasures that endure in a world where everything seems disposable.

The aim of GAUTHIER is to provide a selection of classic wristwatches that will outlast us. They’ll endure in quality, in condition, beauty, and style. Fine mechanical timepieces are one of the few objects of the past century that weren’t made to be thrown away. They were more handmade than modern watches are. They’ve also lived lives and gained unique character over the years. They each have a soul. They’ve stood the test of time and will continue to do so. GAUTHIER focuses on sourcing honest watches, inside and out. So you can just wear them, and enjoy watches as unique as you are.
AUTHENTICATION AND SERVICE
It’s been over a decade since our founder started working in the vintage watch industry, and it’s provided our company with strong expertise, a deep knowledge base, and the connections necessary to source and service honest, quality timepieces. Spencer Gauthier is a proud member of the International Watch and Jewelry Guild (IWJG), and he travels the world to find the best in fine timepieces.
We guarantee every watch we sell is 100%-genuine and authentic. All of the watches we sell are inspected and serviced by true veteran watchmakers, eminently talented technicians who have each worked 30+ years independently and for major Swiss brands. That allows us to back up every watch we sell with a 1-year mechanical warranty.
LASTING CARE
Our goal is to make sure you are happy with your wristwatch. That’s why we offer a convenient 5-day return policy and a 1-year mechanical warranty.
Every watch we sell is recently fully-serviced and tested by our professional watchmakers, who each have decades of experience. We’re confident in the function and performance of all of our watches, so we warrant them for one year from the day of delivery. If your watch requires routine servicing or repair after our warranty has expired, we will perform service or repair on your timepiece at our wholesale cost.
